Ryan has spent nearly 30 years in and around successful local bike shops. The first decade of his career took him from turning wrenches at the local bike shop to launching new products for Trek Bicycles. He and his wife Corey then founded Harvest Retail Marketing, the premier marketing agency for bicycle retailers.
Ryan joined SmartEtailing as a co-owner in 2016, and together with a talented team, modernized the company's software and marketing solutions. In addition to his hands-on partnerships with many of the nation's top bicycle dealers, his involvement with industry leaders through PeopleForBikes informs his understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the IBD channel. Ryan's market insights can be found on NBDA podcasts and webinars, in the pages of Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, as a speaker at industry events, or through his frequent postings on LinkedIn.
Away from work, Ryan rides his bike almost every day. He's the neighborhood "bike guy" and regularly repairs flat tires and bent derailleurs for anyone who knocks on his door.
David is proud to help independent retailers engage consumers through a variety of web based technologies. Before joining SmartEtailing, David spent more than twelve years as an independent bike shop owner, cultivating a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry. Prior to that, he developed extensive experience working with brick and mortar businesses as a retail store designer and merchandising consultant.
David holds a B.S. in business marketing from Northern Michigan University and an M.B.A in business administration and management from Indiana Wesleyan University. When he's not at work, David can usually be found exploring new trails on his mountain bike. In colder months, his outdoor pursuits shift to skiing, hockey, and the occasional fatbike adventure.
Lauren is passionate about helping independent bike retailers be successful. She began marketing for bike shops in 2012 after completing her masters degree in Integrated Media Communications from the University of Nebraska. Lauren leads a team of marketing professionals that help retailers and suppliers meet their goals through creative ideas, problem solving, and effective communication.
Lauren loves to see new cyclists enjoying their bikes and getting involved with the cycling community. She spent several years traveling around the midwest to support her husband who was a competitive cyclist. That experience paired with a sales job at the Trek Bicycle Store of Omaha helped Lauren learn even more about the great culture of cycling. Outside of work Lauren loves to explore the nearby mountains with her family.

He is happiest when surrounded by snow and mountains.
